BUILDING BETTER: Certificate Course for Sustainable Building Practices and Policies

CSE organized the second ‘Building Better’ course which dealt with the issue of sustainable buildings from a sensible and technical perspective. This time around the participants spanned various age groups as well as professions, from Architecture students to IT professionals.

The course was for a duration of five days and covered various aspects related to building sustainability including architecture design, passive techniques, ecology and vernacular wisdom, water and energy use, building materials as well as the various policies and codes which are currently in place. The various modules were conducted by Prof. Shankar R. (IIT Roorkee), Ar. Arvind Krishan, Prof. V.K. Paul (SPA, Delhi), Ar. Gaurav Shorey and CSE in house experts. The sessions were held in a discussion format and were interspersed by classroom exercises and field visits.

All the participants were enthusiastic about learning throughout the course and were appreciative of the course content as well as the manner in which it was conducted.
