Training Programme: Cities and sustainable transport

Several policies, programmes and schemes of the Government of India as well as State Governments in the transport sector require implementation of a range of mobility solutionsrelated to vehicle fleet electrification, integratedpublic transport,accessibleandwalkablecities,transit-orienteddevelopment, vehiclerestraintmeasureslikeparkingpolicy,financialstrategies andtrafficimpactassessmentofnewdevelopment.These new generation policy measures that are already in place require deeper understanding of their design for effective implementation indifferentzones/areas/wardsand also city-wide. Thiswill also helptoleveragetheimplementation ofcleanairactionplans,climateactionplans,amongothers. 

 In view of this the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is organisinga 4-day training programme on Cities and sustainable transport: Planning and design for electric mobility, public transport integration and upscaling accessibility and demand management measures on November 18-21, 2025  forcityofficials from departments of Transport, State Transport Undertaking (STUs)/City bus services, Urban Development, Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), Environment, State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs) to exchange and deepen the collective understanding of the issues, planning and design techniques.This programme includes detailed classroom sessions, interaction with experts, classroom exercise, and exposure visits to deepen understanding of the multi-pronged strategies.
