Generation: 644 tonnes per day
Composition: Biodegradable 47.4 % - , non-biodegradable – 27.2 %, inert fraction generated – 25.4% (data as per NEERI’s study)
Segregation in percentage (%) : NA (Initiative taken to start very soon)
Door to Door (DTD) collection – 60 0ut of 75 wards (80%)
Collection efficiency (in %) – 93.16 % (Out of 644 TPD generation about 600 TPD of solid waste collected)
Processing (recycling & treatment of wet/dry waste): Not yet started though in Bankipur circle pit composting is being initiated and there is waste to energy plant which is considered to be commissioned by March 2019.
Disposal: As of now all the collected waste (about 600 TPD) is being disposed in the sanitary landfill site in Ramachak Bairya.
