Panchgani Hill Station Municipal Council

History:
 Scenic Panchgani was discovered by the British during British Raj as summer resort, and a superintendent name John Chesson was placed in change of the hill Station in the 1860’s. Panchgani was developed as a retreatment place for the British because it remained pleasant throughout the year.
 Population of my town is around 14750 and floating population around 10-12 lacs yearly. In earlier days Panchgani City had problem of garbage collection with 51 staff catering to a floating population of 1 lac at any given time.
 Council was using big containers to collect this garbage.
 The main draw back of this system was segregation of garbage.
 To over come this problem Panchgani Council has taken an initiative to collect garbage in segregated form.
