Adaptation

The Adaptation Fund is a financial instrument established by the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). It is aimed at funding concrete adaptation projects and programmes in those developing countries that are Parties to the Protocol. The fund is largely financed with 2 per cent of the certified emission reduction (CERs) issued for the projects of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).
