A six day scoping visit was made in Zanzibar to understand the existing issues and challenges in the island concerning waste and wastewater management, tourism sector, forestry and climate change; and compliance and enforcement. On 29th August, 2016, a half day stakeholder consultation workshop was organized by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), New Delhi and Zanzibar Environment Management Authority (ZEMA) to discuss the major findings of the scoping visit done by CSE staff and to finalise the major areas of future intervention.

The concentrated solar power has not progressed much in India. Of the seven plants allocated by the government in 2011, only three plants, of total 200 MW capacity, have been commissioned. Solar thermal applications like water heating, industrial applications and space heating and cooling has also not taken off in the large scale, as one would expect given the immense potential of these applications. To discuss all these issues and explore ways to scale up these technologies, we are organizing this one day conference will all concerned stakeholders.
June 23, 2015: The GRP team together with the CSE’s Media Resource Centre organized a two day media briefing workshop on June 17-18, 2015 at Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. The workshop brought together more than 35 journalists from four states - Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

April 13, 2015: The GRP team associated in a 3-days media briefing programme organized by the CSE‘s Media Resource Centre in Chhattisgarh. Nearly 40 journalists from 7 states: Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh (UP), Madhya Pradesh (MP), West Bengal, Orissa, participated in the event.
The collaborative workshop on Action for Clean Air in Gurgaon: Our City. We Care was a joint initiative of the Artemis Hospital, gurgaon and the New Delhi based Centre for Science and Environment. The city dialogue held on December 23, 2014 in Main Auditorium of Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon, and was attended by nearly 50 participants.
