KRC Training programme for PHED, PRI's, WSSO and BDO officials of Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh

The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (MoDWS), has nominated the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) as a National Key Resource Centre to undertake capacity building programmes, research, and awareness creation in context to clean water supply and sanitation.

As part of the 12th five-year plan, (2012 – 2017) report of the Working group on Rural Domestic Water and Sanitation - drinking water supply and sanitation should be converged to ensure source sustainability. Hence, training and workshop for people from the water and sanitation sector has been incorporated from this year (2013). It includes capacity building in the form of mind set change to flexible approach needed in water management and in adoption of Decentralized Waste Water (DWWT) management;  to technical inputs on source protection and water conservation including planning, design, operation and maintenance of Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) and DWWT structures for effective management of water supply.

As part of its continuing training initiative, CSE has completed one regional workshop on Mainstreaming Rainwater harvesting, three training programme on Designing of Rainwater Harvesting systems in the target states and one training on Designing of Decentralised Water Treatment systems in Rajasthan.
