Orientation Training Programme on Reuse of Treated Used Water

This event is complete

The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) has undertaken the development of comprehensive City-Level Action Plans for the safe reuse of treated water in selected cities across India. Prayagraj was chosen as one of the initial cities for this initiative. The preparation and implementation of the City-Level Action Plan for the reuse of treated water is a critical step towards strengthening the circular economy and aligning with the objectives of AMRUT 2.0 and the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG).

CSE in collaboration with the NMCG, organized an Orientation Training Programme on Reuse of Treated Used ater on 28th November, 2025 at the Meeting Hall of Prayagraj Municipal Corporation. This training aimed to strengthen the capacity of city officials on reuse aspects, which covered foundational understanding of the principles, planning approaches, and regulatory frameworks that enable safe and effective reuse of treated used water.

This training was designed to equip the participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to understand and help them implement the reuse action plan developed for Prayagraj:

  • Understanding the Need: Why treated water reuse is essential for water security.
  • Practical Strategies: The 'how-to' guide for successful reuse implementation.
  • Action Plan Implementation: Leveraging the comprehensive Action Plan developed for Prayagraj to ensure implementation and measurable impact.

The training featured active participation from representatives of various government departments.
