South Asia Water Programme Partners and Practitioners Meeting

CSEs South Asia Programme supported by Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) Regional has extensive spread and varieties of engagements with many stakeholders. The broad overall objectives can be summarized as follows:

  • Make available collated, classified and structured environmental information in an easy-to-access format.
  • Create wide awareness about the challenges of environment and development.
  • Build alliances and create forums to facilitate information flows and learning within the region on key environmental issues.
  • Build capacities in society to understand and deal with environmental problems.

The South Asia Water Programme in past five years has diversified its work beyond trainings with its government and non-government partners – to model curriculum development, knowledge support to a Regional Rain Convention and providing technical guidance on the implementation of model projects aimed at mainstreaming sustainable water management practices – namely rainwater harvesting, decentralized wastewater projects including reuse / recycle and urban lakes/wetland management in Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
