Training on SUSTAINABLE RURAL SANITATION

Rural Waste-Water Management Unit has conducted second training on “Sustainable Sanitation” specifically designed for the state of Karnataka from August 05-09, 2019 at Anil Agarwal Environment Training Institute, Alwar Rajasthan. This five- day programme is attended by 30 participants representing 14 districts of the state. The objective of this training programme was to brief and create an understanding of different toilet technologies and management issues of water and waste (solid and liquid) in rural areas and sustainability of open defecation free status. The participants are panchayat development officer, district solid liquid waste management consultants, sanitation engineers and technical engineers. The participants have been nominated by the Swachh Bharat Mission (G) Directorate, Government of Karnataka and are involved in actual implementation of the projects on the ground. The state is focusing mainly on implementation of solid liquid waste management and retrofitting of wrong toilet designs.
