Punjab has a notable presence in the CBG sector, with a total of 82 CBG projects of about 1700 tonne per day capacity registered under GOBARdhan portal, out of which the state has only 10 operational plants at present. CSE under its initiative to strengthen the CBG ecosystem has done a sectoral study of the state. The study focused on understanding feedstock supply chains, off take models, by-product management, cost economics, and scalability aspects of CBG production. The study is conducted with major objective of documenting good practices, identify challenges, and propose pathways for strengthening the ecosystem at the feedstock, manufacturing, and policy levels.
To take this dialogue forward, CSE is conducting a “Stakeholder Workshop on Upscaling CBG sector in Punjab State: Addressing the issues and challenges” in Ludhiana. The meeting will bring together key stakeholders including industry, policymakers, farmers and experts to share experiences, deliberate on sectoral challenges, and explore opportunities for scaling up CBG initiatives in the state.
