Water Programme ‘s meeting on urban sanitation advocacy and partnership with National Mission for Clean Ganga, Date on 12th April 2018

In continuation to CSE’s Water Programme earlier engagements with NMCG, Mr Rajiv Ranjan Mishra who has been newly appointed DG of NMCG chaired a meeting between CSE and NMCG. DG appreciated the significant role of CSE in the field of FSSM in Ganga basin region. The DG, in principle, agreed to have an MoU with CSE on long term partnership and programme support for FSSM intervention in Ganga Basin towns.

NMCG also agreed and requested to CSE to develop tailor made capacity building programme for urban local bodies of 97 target towns. CSE has been invited to set up a Programme Support Unit to support NMCG and submit proposal for tailor made trainings to be fully sponsored by NMCG under Capacity building programmes.

The proposed strategy is to identify select towns where the different model of FSSM (co-treatment where STP is existing, full FSSM intervention with no STP) could be demonstrated.
