CSE Webinar: Managing Urban Solid Waste

The Government of India has emphasised and incentivised segregation in all its programmes for solid waste management. However, at the city level, there are challenges to ensure that all households and bulk producers segregate their solid waste; and that this segregated waste is then processed for reuse and recycling. Segregation at source is critical for sustainable waste management.

CSE has brought together a new research study documenting what is happening in India's bestranked cities on waste management, as well as what are the global practices for ensuring and implementing segregation at city-level.

Shri D S Mishra, Secretary, Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India, will release this new study. Sunita Narain, Director General, CSE, will make a presentation on the study. City managers will then present their best practices so that we can learn and drive change in practice at scale and speed.

We look forward to seeing you in the webinar.
