Online training program on Faecal Sludge Management in Rural Areas for Africa-South Asia

Date: August 21-30, 2021

Rural Water and Waste team organised a ten-day specialised online training program on " Faecal Sludge Management in Rural Areas” for Africa-South Asia from August 21-30, 2021. This followed a global conclave on the same topic on August 20, where experts from different parts of Global South exchanged their views on the issue and brought in success stories. This was a tailor-made training program developed for the Consultants, corporates, researchers, trainers, academicians etc.

The program intended to advocate the importance of safe onsite sanitation technologies and decentralized treatment of faecal sludge in rural areas. Expert sessions were organised for the participants to have a better understanding on the subject.

A total of 100 participants from the various countries attended the training program. 42 participants from Africa, 1 from Australia, 11 from Bangladesh, 1 from Fiji Island, 43 from India and 1 from South America. The participants appreciated the training program.
