The heat is on. Literally. Temperatures are soaring. 2026 is expected to be a year of a ‘super’ El Nino, which will make it one of the hottest years on record. A weak monsoon is already being predicted; droughts will follow; and forest fires have started in the hills. One resource which will be in severe stress and short supply this year is water. Only drastic, immediate action can help us face the apocalyptic days that are coming up.
Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is launching a public awareness and call-to-action campaign to bring the subject of water back into our collective consciousness. Through Down To Earth stories and a bouquet of films and videos. Through time-defying seminal compilations like Dying Wisdom. Through interactives, data cards, reels and live discussions.
All of which reinforce what we in CSE have been saying and demanding for over three decades: catch water where it falls. Conserve, preserve and reuse. Let’s be water-wise in today’s climate-risked world.
