Programme Officer for Clean Air and Sustainable Mobility Programme

Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), a New Delhi based non-profit institution, is currently seeking a Programme Officer for its Clean Air and Sustainable Mobility Programme to do policy based and technical research on sustainable urban mobility and transportation strategies. 

CSE is one of India's leading public interest research institutes. It is known for its rigorous research and advocacy on environmental and sustainable development issues. 

Work Profile: 

  • Conduct research on urban mobility and transportation, decarbonisation, electric mobility.
  • Organize surveys, conduct stakeholder consultations, interaction with government
  • Write high quality policy and research reports.
  • Communication and dissemination of technical and policy-related issues with stakeholders and the public in general.
  • Conduct training / capacity building programmes. 

Requirements: 

  • Postgraduates in planning or engineering with specialization in the transportation / mobility sector.
  • Experience in qualitative and quantitative data analytics using advanced excel, power query, data analytic software like power bi/ tableau.
  • Knowledge of spatial analysis with the help of GIS or other open source mapping tools.
  • Experience in conducting transportation surveys; engaging with stakeholder and government agencies shall be considered as added skills.
  • It is desirable to have experience and knowledge in application of advanced data analytical software like Python, SPSS/ R and knowledge of data modeling techniques.
  • Good writing skills, with the ability to convey issues analytically with clarity.
  • Language proficiency - English and Hindi or other regional languages.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Good networking skills. 

Experience:

  • 4-5 years of experience relevant to the sector.
  • Candidates with lesser experience will be considered for junior positions.
