The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised the eighth edition of  "Energy and Environment Conclave" on 28th August 2015 at ITC Sonar, Kolkata. Teacher Orientation Workshop on Water and Green Schools Audit - April 2016 dates are out!

To guide your students to complete the GSP Audit 2016 successfully – Register now for the Teacher Orientation Workshop! This year, the GSP Audit will focus on Water and Sanitation with the aim to build water-wise schools. The day long orientation workshop is for teachers, students and eco-club members. During the workshop, we will take you through the GSP Audit and explain the process of collecting information for the submission of the audit. Who can participate?

Communication for Awareness

CSE researches the underlying processes of change and events and pushes for sustainable policies in the area of natural resource management. Through its informational products, CSE has provided advance warnings, perceptive analyses and intellectual leadership in the field of environmental management and helped to build an informed public opinion.  

Treating solid waste

CSE started this practice to showcase successful decentralised management of the solid waste and also to reduce the discharge of the solid waste from its own campus. Solid waste composting is a process to prepare compost from the biodegradable organic material which can be used as soil conditioner or organic fertilizer. Two types of wastes generated in the CSE:  From leftover cooked food (collected from canteen)  From uncooked raw vegetable waste ( also known as kitchen waste) and dry leaves 

Two Days Training Programme on E-waste for GAIL Officials

Trained by Sustainable Industrialization Team  Centre for Science and Environment at GAIL Training Institute A two day training programme on e-waste has been conducted by the CSE team for the Gail officials. The programme was held during 22-23rd of February, 2016. A total of 15 officials from across India GAIL units attended the programme.
