Video Archive Manager for CSE / Down To Earth

The Centre for Science and Environment, an established non-profit institution known for its rigorous and scientific policy research and advocacy on environmental issues, requires a video archive manager for its vast collection of images and to develop systems for growth and monetization of the unique collection. 

The person should be able to categorise and arrange the photo/video footages that have been collected over time at the organisation. The candidate should also be able to make specific catalogues and attach metadata to files in order to make it easier for others to access the files in the database and locate the video they require. He/she will be solely responsible for building and maintaining a centralised visual archive for the organisation. CSE is also exploring options for dissemination of its images and the person will be responsible for presenting and overseeing the development, including possible monetization of the collection. 

Roles and Responsibility:

  • Cataloguing and arranging old and new photo/video footages that have been collected over time at the organisation in a manner that is easier to access and to manage the collection.
  • Attaching metadata tags to videos to note key elements of videos to improve archive search. Creating easily accessible organization systems for photo and video data files. 
  • Work on photo/video edits with Multimedia and Design team as per the requirement. 
  • Helping other CSE teams to access the Photo/video archive and find the video files as per requirement.
  • Working on development opportunities for the collection and then overseeing the agreed plan. 

Key Skills:

  • Education: Mass communication / equivalent
  • Minimum experience: 2-5 years (preferably in media production/environment journalism)
  • Proficient at database management
  • Photo and video editing skills
  • Must be proficient with the Adobe creative suite with a focus on Premiere Pro, Audition, and After Effects.
  • Good communication and organisational skills 

Salary: CSE pays competitive salary commensurate with qualification and experience.
