Online Workshop on Implementation Status and Reprioritization of Zimbabwe’s One Health Antimicrobial Resistance National Action Plan

The Food Safety and Toxins team at the Centre for Science and Environment and the Ministry of Health and Child Care, Zimbabwe successfully organized a two-day online Workshop on Implementation Status and Reprioritization of Zimbabwe’s One Health Antimicrobial Resistance National Action Plan (AMR-NAP) on September 28-29, 2020. The workshop aimed to discuss the current status of implementation of Zimbabwe’s AMR-NAP and prioritize the same. On the first day of the workshop, an overview of the current status of implementation of NAP, available resources, challenges, priorities, and plans was presented by participants across the human, animal, environment, food, drug and agriculture sectors from Zimbabwe. Speakers from India and Zambia also discussed their experiences and learnings of prioritizing their NAPs. Day 2 involved group work activity to prioritize Zimbabwe's NAP across human, animal, and environment sectors. The workshop brought together about 30-35 participants.
