Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), Water Programme has participated in the Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) 2021, a fully virtual event from held from 21 June to 2 July. With an emphasis on innovation, solutions and technologies that are relevant to the wider Asian region, SIWW 2021 focussed on key thematic areas including climate resilience, resource circularity and digital water. This virtual event featured close to 100 thematic webinars and workshops, technical sessions, product showcases, and a marketplace.

The aim of the event is to create a global platform to share and co-create innovative water solutions.  

Dr Suresh Kumar Rohilla was invited by SIWW to be part of Programme Organising Committee. He presented at the SIWW 2021 on Mainstreaming Blue Green Infrastructure in Ganga basin cities and talked about 5000-year-old Ahar Pyne Systems in Bihar and hybrid approach for ‘Making Cities Water Resilient’ and Co-treatment of Faecal sludge at Bijnor for citywide sanitation. He has also suggested and put together focused thematic sessions relevant to future of water and cities.

He has presented on Theme 1: Water Resilient Cities– Lessons from Recent Extreme Events, Theme 3: Effective & Efficient Wastewater Management and Theme 4: Cities of the Future.
