Online Training on Water Sensitive Urban Design and Planning

Background
Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is organizing an online training programme on “Water Sensitive Urban Design and Planning” (WSUDP) specially designed for the Masters students of Jamia Millia Islamia Central University, New Delhi. The programme is based on state-of-art teaching – learning tools consisting of interactive sessions, essential and desirable reading materials, documentaries, experiential learning using detailed case studies and working in groups.

Aim
The aim of the training is to mainstream decentralized WSUDP through capacity building in planning and management of urban infrastructure.

Objectives

  • Developing community of practice in WSUDP sector.
  • Exposure and use of key tools and approaches for existing and upcoming policies, programmes and projects.
  • To generate awareness on best management practices and state of art knowledge in the area of WSUDP.

Programme Design
Module 1: WSUDP: Context, Concept and significance where the section focuses on the evolving knowledge of WSUDP and the interventions occurring in Indian cities highlighting the scenario in Delhi.

Module 2: WSUDP Approach and practice where the section emphasizes the implementation and management framework along with the best management practices at individual, neighbourhood and zonal scale.
